Personnel
Dr
Sanjeev Gogna: Chief Executive Officer
Dr Gogna will
bring strong scientific and commercial skills to the project. He is a
qualified Pharmacist and his PhD gives him an in-depth understanding of the
scientific aspects of the project. Dr Gogna is an experienced Business
Development Manager with Warwick Ventures, the technology transfer department
of the University of Warwick, and has assisted the academics in identifying
the strategic goals for the business. He prepared the feasibility proposals
leading to a SMART Feasibility Award and was instrumental in finalising the
seedcorn investment. He will continue to support the business and raise
further finance and, in turn, lead the development of the strategic plan and
exploitation strategy.

Dr
Manu Vatish: Clinical Director
Dr Vatish undertook pre-clinical studies and
an intercalated B.A. (Hons) in physiology at Oxford University where he
developed an interest in research and took the opportunity to undertake a PhD
between pre-clinical and clinical studies. His work on “Ion Transport across
the Human Placenta” was awarded a D.Phil in 1992. He completed his clinical
studies at Cambridge University in 1994 and commenced obstetrics and
gynaecology following pre-registration year. During clinical training on the
Oxford training rotation, Dr Vatish was appointed to Clinical Lecturer at the
University of Warwick. This gave him the opportunity to combine clinical
obstetric training with basic science research in a five star rated
institution with a world-class reputation in molecular biology. Membership of
the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists was obtained the following
year. He has subsequently been appointed Senior Lecturer and consultant at
Warwick Medical School. Dr Vatish will be key to the project bringing his
clinical expertise and undertaking field work during R&D.

Dr
David Pritlove: Research Director
Dr Pritlove gained first class honours in
molecular biology from the University of Glasgow. During his PhD he developed
technologies to apply reverse genetics to negative strand RNA viruses. During
post doctoral research at the University of Oxford he researched the
protein-RNA interactions of influenza virus and contributed significantly to
the current understanding of gene expression in this medically important group
of viruses. After joining the University of Warwick as a lecturer during 2000,
he expanded his research interests to other areas of protein-RNA interactions
and became involved in high throughput structural/functional studies and in
expression analysis using microarray ‘gene chip’ technology and proteomics.

Dr Paul
Royle: Senior Post Doctoral Scientist
Dr Royle brings both scientific
expertise and business acumen to the company. Having graduated with a 2:1 in
Agricultural Biochemistry from the University of Nottingham, Dr Royle gained
vast industrial research experience at Monsanto (PBI) in Cambridge. He
subsequently completed a PhD in Molecular Biology working in collaboration
with the University of Nottingham and Warwick HRI, developing his knowledge
and application of the latest, cutting-edge, molecular techniques. Finally,
having successfully completed a Medici Fellowship at the University of
Warwick, Dr Royle brings both enthusiasm and an immense spectrum of scientific
ability to the research being performed by Incentec.

Dr
Matthew Smith: Business Development Manager
Dr Smith
graduated with a 2:1 degree in Microbiology from the University of Warwick in
1999. During this time he also worked for BNFL which gave him invaluable
experience working in the industrial sector. During his PhD in Microbiology at
the University of Warwick, Dr Smith worked with commercially-exploitable
organisms known as methanotrophs, providing him not only a wealth of
scientific knowledge but also overwhelming experience in the industrial
application of science and the technology transfer processes involved.
Subsequent to this, Dr Smith successfully completed the prestigious Medici
Fellowship at the University of Warwick, successfully raising over £250,000 of
funds for various university spin-out companies.
